Description

In the shadow of the Pyramid of Unas lies a huge series of private mastabas, four of which are particularly well preserved. They were discovered during digs led by the Egyptian Egyptologist Ahmed Moussa. It is well worth visiting them to admire the market and hunting scenes in the mastaba of Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep; the slaughtering of animals in the tomb of Irukaptah; and the beautiful scenes showing papyrus being gathered in the tomb of Nefer.
