Useful information

Description

The former Kuršumilja madrasa, built in 1537, was once the most important school in Sarajevo. It is part of the Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque complex, where the Koran, law and Arabic were among the subjects taught. The place suffered great damage during the war. However, it has risen again and now houses an exhibition space and, in a modern building, one of the finest and oldest collections in Europe of books in Arabic, Turkish and Persian.
