The site of Tipón is not easy to reach (impossible even in the rainy season), but is well worth the effort, particularly without the crowds. The exceptionally well-preserved and elaborate Inca terraces have led archaeologists to speculate that they were actually the scene of innovative agronomical experiments rather than just common farming land. Tipón is also the site of the remains of bathing houses, a temple and a network of aqueducts and irrigation canals, which bear witness to the quality and ingenuity of Incan engineers.
