Useful information

Description

Probably founded by Benedictines in 1069, the abbey's main façade is a fusion of the three principles that guided its construction: austerity, simplicity and elevation. Admire also the restored Jesse Window; the 14C stained-glass window bearing the Washington family crest; the baptismal fonts with a fine 15C wooden cover, one of the few pieces to have survived the fire in 1906.
