Jeong-Dong
The Green Guide

Useful information

Description

Jeong-Dong is the neighbourhood where the majority of Westerners lived after Korea opened its doors to foreigners. Foreign embassies, missionary churches and modern schools were built here around Deoksugung or Deoksu Palace by Europeans and Americans. The late 19C and early-20C buildings, the first modern buildings to be constructed on Korean soil, have a certain period charm. Modern and contemporary art enthusiasts won't want to miss the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA).
