This modern sanctuary (1965) houses Juan de Mesa's magnificent statue of the Christ the Almighty (Jesús del Gran Poder, 1620). Christ's slightly inclined face, sculpted with great realism, is imbued with great sadness and deep humanity. One of the peculiarities of this Christ is that his arms are jointed, which allows him to assume two attitudes, his arms bent to hold the cross or stretched out in front of him, hands bound.
