This museum is worth visiting in order to gain some preliminary knowledge of Maramures folk art before exploring the region's hidden gems. The emphasis is naturally on farming in an area with such a strong pastoral tradition, but wood craft (carved doors) and folklore (fine carnival masks) also feature.
