Useful information

Description

At the far end of the isthmus of Sirmione, the archaeological area has retained the remains of a huge Roman villa, once thought (incorrectly) to have belonged to the poet Catullus (c 87-54 BC). A small museum provides information about the site, which juts right out into Lake Garda and is well worth visiting simply for its magnificent location.
