Description

The north coast stretches along the Atlantic from Río San Juan to the Haitian border. Renowned for its waves that make it an excellent windsurfing site, it is also dotted with seaside resorts - Sosúa, Cabarete - extremely touristy. From Puerto Plata, the splendid Carretera Turística cuts inland to Santiago offering countless stunning points of view of the mountains and coastline on the way.
