The massive outline of St Etienne Cathedral lends it the allure of a fortified church. An austere façade framed by two large towers with loopholes contrasts with the refinement of the inner triforium. A beautiful 15C stained-glass window, a granite Way of the Cross (1958) and, in the small chapel, the tomb of Saint Guillaume, who died in 1234.
