Description
The Spanish architect José Rafael Moneo designed the building that houses the Modern Art Museum and Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design or ArkDes, arranged around a shared concourse. The extensive collection of the Modern Art Museum illustrates the main artistic movements of the 20C and the contemporary period. One room is dedicated to Pontus Hultén (1924‑2006), who founded the museum in 1958 and was also the first director of the Pompidou Centre in Paris (1977‑81).
