Useful information

Description

Built in 1483, New Place was Shakespeare's home for the last part of his life. Today, only the foundations remain and the site was reorganised in 2016 and includes a contemporary garden and a small exhibition on family life. A garden identical to Shakespeare's is being created. The adjoining house of Thomas Nash, the husband of Shakespeare's granddaughter, contains an exhibition on the editions of the Bard's work, local life under the Tudors and the jubilee organised by David Garrick.
