Useful information

Description

This small chapel, the oldest wooden church in Canada, was built between 1747 and 1750 by the Jesuit missionary, Claude-Godefroy Cocquart. The chapel houses a fine collection of religious objects as well as a permanent exhibition dedicated to missionary life in the early colony. Look out for the unusual wooden sacristy abutting the chancel.
