Overlooking downtown, the Capitol stands on the spot where the state's first legislative session was held in 1824. It consists of two buildings. In the Old Capitol (1845), a neo-Classical building, you can visit the former Supreme Court Chamber, the former Senate and the former House of Representatives. In the background, the New Capitol, a 21-storey concrete high-rise, houses the Florida Parliament and the government offices. From the top, the panoramic view embraces the surrounding area.
