Useful information

Description

The story behind this building remains unclear. Most archaeologists lean toward it being a caravanserai built to provide shelter for merchants preparing to cross the dangerous passes along the route to China. The fact that certain parts of Tash Rabat are reminiscent of a mosque can most likely be attributed to a custom shared by the faithful of saying a prayer before the perilous voyage. Nestled in the trough of high mountains, a backdrop embellished only by yurts and herds of horses, this is a truly spectacular site.
