The Michelin Guide's review
The rooms of the Palace of Tiryns, the megaron, surrounded a courtyard that used to be covered and the walls of which were decorated with frescoes. There was a circular foyer at the centre of this and the royal throne stood on the right side. The east and south casemates are a remarkable series of galleries built into the rampart; they served as barracks in times of war and stores in peacetime.
