Housed in the Palazzo Madama, this museum follows a chronological layout, tracing the history of art from the Middle Ages to the late 18C through its fine collection of paintings, sculpture and decorative art pieces. Don't miss the museum's masterpiece, the Portrait of a Man by Antonello da Messina (1430-79), or the monumental staircase by Juvarra, one of the gems of this palazzo and a miracle of balance and elegance, despite its huge size.
