Useful information

Opening hours

daily except Mon 10am‑6pm

An unusually animated facade characterizes this palace built by Guarini, where the first King of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II, was born in 1820. So it naturally seemed the obvious place to install the National Museum of the Risorgimento, entirely renovated in 2011 and which houses a rich collection of documents illustrating the long and difficult march towards Italian Unification. You will visit the Sub-Alpine Parliament Hall, where Cavour, Garibaldi, Verdi and Manzoni spoke, and the Italian Parliament Hall, which was never used.
