Rising 40m in height, this proud red-hued basalt château is one of the most remarkable to be found in the Upper Auvergne. It was built in the 15C by Louis II d'Anjony, a companion of Joan of Arc, alongside the towers of Tournemire, the seigneury of which his family shared from 1351 onwards. The château comprises a keep framed by four corner towers and a wing added in the 18C. Inside, admire attractive pieces of furniture and 16C frescoes, in particular in the Salle des Preux and the chapel.
