Description

The Archaeological Museum, installed in 1995 in a handsome 17C house and run by the National university of Trujillo, features seven rooms offering a didactic and chronological picture of pre-Columbian cultures of northern Peru: collections of Cupisnique and Salinar potteries, a model of Caballo Muerto, significant Mochica ceramics up to the Incan period, wooden Chimú idols from Chan Chan, together with artefacts from the excavation of the pyramids of Moche, in particular from the Huaca de la Luna.
