Useful information

Description

On Donaulände, by the Nibelungengasse, stands an almost intact tower, built under Diocletian (284-305 CE). It once flanked the western ramparts of a Roman camp. It was used as an arsenal in the Middle Ages, then to store salt in the early 19C, hence its present name of "Salt Tower".
