The rue des Andalous is one of the most beautiful streets in the medina. The tall doors with Moorish arches recall the aristocratic heritage of this residential district, which was once inhabited by wealthy refugees from Andalusia. The quarter has a quiet air of tranquillity, which makes a welcome change from the busy tourist shopping streets.
