This charming agricultural island was an important political hub in the 12C and 13C. From 1561 to 1680, members of the Brahe family lived in Visingsborg Castle, whose ruins can be seen to the right of the port. Further north, this illustrious family built its church; nowadays it contains numerous objects which once belonged to them. At the other end of the promenade stands Kumlaby Church (1135), elegant in its simplicity and boasting a typical 12C nave. The terrace offers an attractive viewpoint.
