Description

Isla Negra, to the south of Valparaíso, was Pablo Neruda's favourite house. The poet had it extended numerous times, before it was confiscated after the 1973 coup d'état. Neruda died soon thereafter and never saw the house again. In the early 1990s, his remains were brought back to Isla Negra, which he had once described as "[his] boat anchored on land".
