Useful information

Description

In the house where Romain Rolland penned many of his novels are displayed the best items from a collection bequeathed to the town of Vézelay by Christian Zervos (d 1970). The founder of a publication called les Cahiers d'Art (1926-1960), he amassed a modern art collection representing all the major movements: cubism, surrealism, abstract art. Don't miss Max Ernst's fine Grasshopper, Musical instruments by Laurens and Picasso's Painter and child.
