Description

Founded by Joana de Mendonça, second wife of Duke Dom Jaime I, the Convent of the Wounds is located to the south of the palace square and houses a luxurious pousada. The church, with its walls covered in azulejos from 1626, serves as the necropolis for the Duchesses of Bragança. Many frescoes are preserved, especially around the cloister.
