The oldest house (1881) of Abitibi-Témiscamingue now houses a small museum that presents various objects from the colonisation period recalling the unique history of Ville-Marie and Témiscamingue. Facing the house is a small park affording fine views of Lake Témiscamingue. This huge expanse of water (103km/64mi long and up to 210m/688ft deep) serves as a border between the provinces of Quebec and Ontario.
