Description

Gotland, the so-called Pearl of the Baltic, is a favourite holiday resort for Swedes thanks to its particularly mild climate. The island is also famous for growing roses and orchids. Also known as the City of Roses and Ruins, Visby (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is a charming medieval town surrounded by ramparts. To the north, the fascinating coast of Fårö is lined with a number of raukar, unusual rock formations in the cliffs created by erosion, making it a pleasant area for hikers.
