Useful information

Description

Segedunum is a ruined fort overlooking the north bank of the River Tyne. Protected by a defensive wall and moats, it was the last outpost at the eastern end of the famous wall built by Roman Emperor Hadrian (76-138 AD). The bathhouse has been reconstructed. The museum displays archaeological finds discovered during digs.
