Useful information

Description

A moving and absorbing history lesson awaits visitors to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, a huge museum-research centre, conceived "to honour the memory of the dead and alert the living." The brick and limestone building (1993) calls to mind a post-Modern penitentiary, with its watchtowers and exposed metal and glass beams. Exhibitions include poignant archive films, photographs and sound recordings of genocide survivors.
