Wicklow County
The Green Guide

Useful information

Description

Sometimes called "the Garden of Ireland", County Wicklow is a land of forests, lakes and castles. This unspoilt region bordered by the Irish Sea has a mountain range, after which it is named, running across it. Nature lovers will be enamoured by the many hiking trails and wild beaches. For centuries the county was one of the bastions of Celtic Christian culture, before the Anglo-Irish aristocracy built their splendid estates here.
