When Franz Schubert fell ill, he moved to his brother's house to "take advantage of the healthier air of the suburbs", on the advice of his doctor. He did not expect to stay long, but this is where he died at the age of 31 on 19 December 1828. There is a small museum displaying poignant artefacts from the time.
