Description

This gallery, renowned for its collection of English and American pieces covering the period from 1600 through 1830, was named for its premier benefactor, Reader's Digest magazine founder DeWitt Wallace. The museum's superb Masterworks collection features rare decorative arts from the Colonial period, including British silver and porcelain, and Charles Willson Peale's military portrait (1780) of the young George Washington.
