Useful information

Description

Sudeley Castle stands on the spectacular slopes of the Cotswolds. Once a medieval fortress, then the home of Catherine Parr, widow of Henry VIII, the castle was besieged and destroyed during the Civil War. During the 19C, the building was restored; some sections were left to ruin, however. The interior includes a number of paintings by Constable, Turner, Van Dyck and Rubens, as well as a tapestry by Sheldon from the late 16C.
