Useful information

Description

Windsor is the largest castle in the whole of England. Enlarged and rebuilt by successive kings and queens, it has been a royal residence since it was originally built by William the Conqueror around 1080, who built a feudal motte and inner courtyard here. The royal family takes up residence here in April and during Ascot Week in June. The state apartments with their collections of furniture and art and St George's Chapel are not to be missed.
