Description
This country house was built in the late 17C and restored in 1973 after subsidence caused by the surrounding mine galleries. The high-quality furniture was made around 1720 (see the State Bedroom), and the porcelain, tapestries and paintings date from the same period. There is also an exceptional collection of portraits and photographs. The joiner's workshop, and outbuildings give an insight into everyday life on a rural estate. The traditional garden dating from the early 18C has undergone restoration work.
