A trip to Xalapa is worth it for this museum alone, where you can explore the richest collection of archaeological items in the country after the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. It was inaugurated in 1986, its streamlined architecture perfectly highlighting the objects on display along the huge rectangular space gently sloping down through the park. Six rooms and three patios give onto a long gallery that winds through the various gulf cultures from the Olmecs to the Huastecs.
