Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the extraordinary church of Zelená Hora is a place of pilgrimage. The church takes the form of a five-pointed star surrounded by a circular ambulatory with ten different sections and was built by architect Jan Blažej Santini Aichel between 1719 and 1727 in a blend of Gothic and Baroque styles. The five branches of the star are a reference to the halo of St John of Nepomuk, to whom the building is dedicated.
