La Ruche
Michelin Guide
Civil and military monument
The Michelin Guide's review
Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the palace of wine from the 1900 Paris Exposition was saved from destruction by a sculptor, Alfred Boucher. It has since housed artists' studios including those of Fernand Léger (1905), Chagall (1910), Soutine, Modigliani, Blaise Cendrars, Archipenko, Zadkine and Brancusi. A listed historic monument and restored from 1973 onwards, La Ruche now hosts artists of every genre. The Alfred Boucher workshop displays a selection of their work.
