Lakeside Country Guest House is located in front of Bassenthwaite Lake with mountain views which can be enjoyed from the front bedrooms. It is ideally located between from Keswick and Cockermouth. The property is a 5-minute walk from the nearby pub. Free parking is available. This Edwardian, family-run guest house overlooks Bassenthwaite Lake. The guest house offers award-winning breakfast including gluten-free options, and rooms with attached bathroom. All rooms have a flat-screen TV, Caroline Henry toiletries, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Upon arrival, all guests are offered a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake. The Cumberland breakfast is prepared with local produce, fresh farm eggs, freshly brewed coffee and a selection of teas. Guests preorder their breakfast on-line from our extensive menu which caters for all diets and tastes. It is served in the breakfast room, which offers views. Breakfast can be served on the terrace during the summer. There is also a country pub located within walking distance. The Lakes Distillery can be reached in 3-minutes' drive or or 15-20 minutes walk. Guests can book distillery tours for whiskey, gin and vodka and can also book an afternoon tea in The Bistro. A visit to The Theater by The Lake in nearby Keswick is also highly recommended. The surrounding picturesque Lake District is ideal for hiking, cycling, walking and fishing. Enjoy the scenic lake and forest walks from the guest house. Close by, there is Whinlatter Forest, a great base for mountain biking, walking, Go Ape adventures and bird watching. Cockermouth, a charming market town, is the birthplace of William Wordsworth, where you can visit Wordsworth House on Main Street and then take a stroll through town with an abundance of shops, cafes and restaurants.
