Pass through the noren and a ‘Showa modern’ style space opens up before you. In this nostalgic atmosphere, customers can enjoy everything from appetisers to soba. A full menu of shuko, such as stewed soybeans with sakura ebi and salt-grilled duck, makes you want to tip back a cup or two of sake. A choice of two thinly cut noodles is available: juwari with its smooth finish and arabiki (coarse ground) with the buckwheat chaff ground into the noodles. Soba in hot broth is offered in the winter.
