Description

It is here that the unscrupulous Mirabeau seduced the young and wealthy Marignane heiress. He made sure it became known so as to bring shame on the Marignane family and make marriage inevitable. But Mirabeau hadn't played it as well as he thought for his spiteful stepfather cut off the young couple and Mirabeau, crippled by debt, soon ended up at Château d'If prison.
