Useful information

Description

Albany Institute of History and Art, one of the oldest museums in the country (1791), has remarkable collections of artefacts. These enable you to imagine life and culture in the Hudson Valley, from the late 17C to the present. Paintings, furnishing, silverware, glassware, costumes, documents, manuscripts and photos are exhibited in rotation, while the permanent exhibitions are dedicated to Egyptian antiques, and 19C American sculpture and painting.
