Description
The lake district is one of the most charming areas of Beijing, with its labyrinth of narrow streets and small stone bridges over the water. The musical entertainment in the bars and restaurants around the lakes sometimes breaks the charm of the setting, but the magic always works when you see the weeping willows with their branches caressing the surface of the lakes. It is also in this area that most of Beijing's former artists' and writers' residences are located.
