This agglomeration of four restored houses arranged around a courtyard offers an extraordinary trip back in time, to the daily life of four working families in 1840, 1870, 1930 and 1970 respectively. Furniture, objects, silverware, costumes and mementoes vividly bring these periods back to life, evoking a bygone Birmingham and indeed a wider national history. Interactive exhibits allow visitors to learn more about a past which in some cases is not so long ago. Unmissable.
