Description

Puning Temple commemorates the victory of Emperor Qianlong over Mongol troops. Its Chinese architecture is very classical: the impressive statue of Guanyin, the Buddhist goddess of mercy, who is depicted with 43 arms (100, according to legend). Each of the hands of this 22m-high gilded sculpture holds a Buddhist symbol and has an eye incrusted in its palm. Not to be missed.
