Useful information

Description

The 13C house, where Champollion was born, and the two adjacent buildings comprise a genuine "multilingual latticework" made up of nearly a thousand characters from 28 different forms of writing that filter the light. In addition to Champollion's personality and work, the museum charts the history of the world's written forms, including the advent of writing - from reed pens used by scribes to the invention of the alphabet - and the evolution of books, from parchment to computers. Truly fascinating!
