Useful information

Description

Through collections devoted to archaeology, applied arts and 15C-19C painting, the museum aims to give visitors an overview of the history of civilisations and arts. You can admire Konrad Witz's famous altarpiece (1444) depicting the Miraculous Draught of Fishes. As for the 19C, the museum takes you from the landscapes of Corot to the works of Genevan artist Toepffer and, above all, to the powerful output of Ferdinand Hodler, the greatest late-19C Swiss artist.
