Gwangju National Museum, whose collection comprise s over 50 000 objects, is reputed for its magnificent celadon ceramics dating from the Goryeo Period. Celadon, "cheongja" in Korean, refers to glazed ceramic ware ranging from translucent green to blue-grey.
