Useful information

Description

Archaeologists believe the Thule people lived on this beautiful islet due to the abundance of whales, seals and caribou. Some 3,000 artefacts, such as ingenious antler bows, ivory harpoons and 20,000 animal bones have been found among 10 subterranean sod houses (thought to have been used as a winter camp). The remains of some 20 skin-tent circles (stones placed in rings on the ground) have also been discovered.
